Color vs. Infrared

For many years in the past Prairie Agri Photo Ltd. used false color infrared film to illustrate vegetation variations within the crop canopy and environmental vegetation. Since the summer of 2006 all imagery is now collected on a high resolution Color Digital camera system. This modified format has some advantages.

1. The images can be enhanced to lessen the effects of moisture and haze in the atmosphere.
2. The sharpness of detail can be enhanced.
3. Zones of the field can be separated to show different production zones.
4. This will eliminate the viewing problem of 1 in 20 men who are Red/Green colorblind.
